Argentina will choose the Best Sommelier 2025 in a prestigious competition that attracts the attention of the entire wine industry.

The Best Sommelier of Argentina competition (MSA 2025), organized by the Argentine Association of Sommeliers, is considered by local sommeliers to be a true platform for global projection, as participants have the unique opportunity to position themselves as global leaders, representing our country in international competitions.

The Argentine sommellerie is going through one of its best moments. A breeding ground for talent and professionalism, our country is today an international reference in the field, which is why the eyes of the world are already on the next Best Sommelier of Argentina Competition (MSA 2025).

Winning this competition is a turning point in any sommelier’s career. It not only opens doors nationally and internationally, but also positions the winner as a benchmark, providing enormous visibility within the industry.

Beyond recognition and global projection, the competition represents a platform to continue growing, teaching, inspiring and contributing to the development of the profession, as the MSA is also a space for training, networking and celebration of local sommellerie.

A CHALLENGING COMPETITION

The solidity of the competition is reflected in its meticulous organization and the unquestionable prestige of the jury composed of recognized leaders in the industry. In the evaluations, these specialists will apply the guidelines of the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI), which set international standards of rigor and transparency.

The 2025 edition of the MSA is expected to involve more than 30 AAS member sommeliers from different provinces of Argentina, who will undergo challenging tests. In addition to evaluating theoretical knowledge – both about wine and other beverages, wine geography, gastronomy and culture in general – during the competition the sommeliers will take a practical exam that will seek to put candidates in situations very close to the reality of the service. The objective is not only to demonstrate how much they know, but also to evaluate how they apply that knowledge with depth, solvency, technique and empathy towards the client.

Likewise, the jury will focus on the communication skills of the participants, prioritizing those who manage to transmit their knowledge in a clear, attractive and close manner, to highlight those who best know how to share their knowledge with passion and simplicity.

It should be noted that, although wine occupies a leading place, the competition includes the world of spirits, beers, coffee, tea and sake, among other beverages, covering the great diversity of knowledge required by the profession today and highlighting the sommelier’s ability to comprehensively advise customers in the gastronomic experience.

The MSA 2025 reinforces the dissemination of an increasingly complex and demanding profession, contributing to the continued growth in quality and prestige of Argentine sommellerie.

Organized by the Argentine Association of Sommeliers (AAS), the competition will begin on November 1st with a day closed to the public in which the preliminary rounds will take place, from which the three finalists will emerge. The main event will take place on November 3: an event open to the public that will include a fair with sponsoring wineries —an ideal space to generate links and networking opportunities—, in addition to masterclasses and outstanding seminars. The closing will be the grand final, in front of the jury and the audience, where the winner will be announced and prizes will be awarded to the most outstanding participants.
